Tattoo Policy

Nothing is drawn, no deposit is taken, and no session date is reserved until the policy is signed at the studio.

Please read and sign this policy before consultation details are finalized, a deposit is collected, or an appointment is booked.

This policy applies to all appointments booked or rescheduled on or after August 25, 2026, including returning clients. Once signed, it remains in effect for 12 months unless Cryptid's Kiss issues a revised policy. A new signature is required after 12 months or when a revised policy is issued.

Consultation

A consultation is required before anything is drawn or a date is reserved. This confirms the idea, placement, size, timing, budget, and that the piece can be completed safely and well.
No consult = no custom drawing and no date on the calendar.

Rates, deposits & payment

Regular tattoo rates start at $150/hour. Your session length and estimated tattoo total are confirmed at consultation. When your appointment is completed as scheduled, you pay the regular tattoo rate discussed at booking — not the higher cancellation / no-show rate below.
Last-minute cancellation / no-show charges are higher than regular tattoo pricing because reserved appointment time generally cannot be replaced on short notice. These charges apply only under the cancellation terms below and are calculated at $200 per reserved hour: 4-hour session $800 · 6-hour session $1,200 · full-day / 8-hour session $1,600.
A 40% deposit of the estimated session total is due by card at booking. Deposits are card only. No deposit = no date on the calendar.
A deposit may be refunded only when the appointment is cancelled both within 24 hours of booking and at least 7 days before the scheduled appointment. After the 24-hour booking window, all deposits are non-refundable. Appointments booked less than 7 days in advance have no deposit refund window.
If you attend as scheduled, the deposit is applied to the tattoo total. It is not an additional fee. Deposits may transfer only as described under the cancellation and rescheduling terms below.
By signing, you authorize Cryptid's Kiss to keep the card on file until the appointment is complete and all charges owed under this policy are settled. The card may be charged for the deposit, remaining session balance, cancellation / no-show charges, late fees, artist travel fees, or other amounts authorized by this policy.
The card on file will not be used for the remaining tattoo balance if you pay cash at the time of service or another payment method is agreed upon before the appointment.
Requested changes to size, placement, or scope after booking may change the time and total cost. The remaining balance is due when the session is completed.

Cancel, no-show & late

7 or more days' notice: You may cancel or reschedule with no additional fee. If the 24-hour booking refund window has passed, the deposit remains non-refundable but may transfer once to a new appointment within 60 days.
Less than 7 days, but at least 48 hours before the appointment: The deposit is forfeited. No additional cancellation fee is charged. A new deposit is required to reschedule.
Less than 48 hours before the appointment, no-call / no-show, or arriving unfit to sit: The deposit is forfeited and the applicable last-minute cancellation / no-show charge applies. Your forfeited deposit counts toward this charge; the card on file will be charged the difference. A new deposit is required to reschedule.
"Unfit to sit" includes, but is not limited to, arriving intoxicated or impaired, significantly sunburned, or with damaged, infected, irritated, or otherwise unsafe skin in the area to be tattooed. The artist may refuse to tattoo when proceeding would be unsafe or inappropriate. Additional preparation and fitness-to-sit information is available at cryptidskiss.com.
If the artist has already traveled to the shop specifically for your appointment before receiving notice of cancellation, or you fail to arrive, an additional $75 artist travel fee applies.
30+ minutes late without notice: a $50 late fee will be charged to the card on file. Your appointment may be shortened or released if the delay prevents the scheduled work from being completed without affecting another appointment.
If you arrive so late that the appointment can no longer reasonably proceed, the applicable same-day cancellation / no-show charge may apply instead of the $50 late fee.
Genuine emergencies with prompt notice may be considered case-by-case.
Repeated cancellations, repeated rescheduling, chronic late arrivals, or a prior no-show may result in a larger deposit, different booking terms, additional fees, or refusal of future appointments.

Age & identification

You must be 18 or older. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at every appointment before work begins. No ID, no tattoo. We do not tattoo minors.

Design ownership

Custom drawings, stencils, and digital files remain the artist's intellectual property. You are paying for the tattoo on your skin, not ownership of the artwork, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Custom artwork may not be copied, reproduced, altered, distributed, given to another tattoo artist, or used to have the design tattooed elsewhere without the artist's written permission. Unauthorized use may violate copyright law, and the artist reserves the right to take legal action when appropriate.
If you cancel an appointment and do not reschedule or communicate with the artist about the cancelled appointment or design for 30 consecutive days after cancellation, the design is considered abandoned and is no longer guaranteed exclusivity. The artist may reuse, modify, adapt, or offer the design or elements of it to another client.

Touch-ups

One complimentary touch-up may be requested within 60 days of the final tattoo session, once the tattoo has fully healed and aftercare instructions were followed. The touch-up must be completed within 90 days of the final tattoo session.
Complimentary touch-ups do not include new work, additions or expansions, changes to the original design, sun or age-related fading, or damage caused by improper aftercare.
Touch-ups requested after 60 days or completed after 90 days are billed at the current hourly rate and treated as a new paid appointment. The current Tattoo Policy — including consultation, deposit, booking, cancellation, and payment terms — applies again.

I have read this Tattoo Policy, understand it, and agree to it as a condition of booking and being tattooed at Cryptid's Kiss. I authorize charges to the card on file as described above unless cash or another arranged payment method is used at the time of service.
